St. Louis' destination for baseball throwing development. At ACE, our goal is to maximize the performance of each athlete in our program to help them become COMPLETE throwers. Athletes are unique and will be trained based off of age, strength, motor control, learning style, movement patterns and work ethic. We use state of the art data analysis, video & training protocols to help athletes achieve their goals of playing at the next level. PROGRAM FOCAL POINTS
SMALL GROUP TRAINING
- After identifying and learning their unique “process” athletes will independently follow their daily plan while receiving feedback from instructors and working/competing with other athletes
INDIVIDUALIZED MOVEMENT & MECHANICAL WORK
- Through each athlete’s initial assessment and video analysis, creating natural and athletic momentum catered to each participant's needs will be the goal in designing a program. At ACE, we understand that no two athletes move the same
WARMUP & RECOVERY PROTOCOLS
- Establishing a routine that consists of mobility, flexibility, and activation exercises to ensure movement efficiency will set the tone for the rest of the athlete’s training program
HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING
- Training velocity will be influenced by many different factors. Athletes will first learn the importance of proper warmup and recovery protocols, which will set the tone for efficient movement patterns. Utilizing resistance bands, plyo balls, medicine balls and other various tools will also help aid the athlete in velocity development. Utilization of training tools will be based on the athlete’s skill level and initial assessment
COMMAND TRAINING
- Command will be established through deliberate practice, focus, mechanical work and simply identifying a specific target during command workout throws
PITCH IQ & PITCH DESIGN
- Developing a pitcher’s repertoire will be aided with the use of Rapsodo Pitching technology. Rapsodo provides instant data on pitch velocity, spin rate, true spin rate, spin axis, spin efficiency and various other measurements in making sure pitchers get the most out of their training
CLASSROOM DISCUSSION
- Various pitching topics will be discussed in a classroom setting. Explanation of programming, participants' expectations, evaluating/attacking hitters, in-season throwing programs and recruiting are some topics to name a few.
IN-GAME PERFORMANCE
- Utilizing the skills that were learned in Phases 1 & 2 to produce in-game results will be the focus during Phase 3. Evaluating/attacking hitters, pitch sequencing and various other topics will be discussed.
